Adding Datto Secure Edge users to Microsoft Azure

SECURITY  Access to create users within your Microsoft Azure cloud shell environment

This article describes how to create Microsoft Azure users for use with the Datto Secure Edge softclient.

Procedure

1. Log in to your Microsoft Azure management environment and navigate to Default Directory > Users.

2. From the New user drop-down menu, select Invite external user.

   

3. You'll be redirected to the Invite external user page, with the Basic tab selected by default.

4. In the Email field, input the email address associated with the Datto Secure Edge subscriber you'd like to add. This value should match the same address registered in Secure Edge.

5. In the Display name field, enter a user-friendly name to help you easily identify the account in Microsoft Azure.

6. Select the Send invite message check box.

   

7. Click Next until you reach the Review + invite tab.

8. Once you've confirmed that the user detail summary is correct, click Invite.

   

9. The Datto Secure Edge subscriber will receive an email notification requesting that they activate their account. Once they have done so, they will have access to your Microsoft Azure subscription.
