Getting started with the Datto Networking BlueSnap integration

1. If you don't already have a BlueSnap account, you'll need to apply for one via our BlueSnap signup portal.

2. The BlueSnap team will review your application. This process typically takes up to three business days.

3. Once your account has been created, you'll receive a BlueSnap welcome email. It will contain your instance details and first-time login credentials.

4. Activate your account. Then, proceed to the next section of this article.

First, you'll need to configure your BlueSnap instance to integrate with Datto Network Manager. To do so, perform the following steps:

1. Log in to your BlueSnap account.

2. In the top navigation menu, navigate to Settings > IPN Settings.

3. On the IPN Configuration Settings page, select the check box next to the Receive Instant Payment Notifications option.

4. Paste your payment gateway URL in the IPN URL(s) field.

5. Select the Add Security Headers check box.

6. Click the Generate Key button. Make a note of the value it generates.

   

7. Click the Select IPNs button.

8. In the menu that appears, enable the Send Charge toggle.

9. At the top of the IPN Configuration Settings page, click Submit.

10. In the top navigation menu, navigate to Settings > API Settings.

11. On the API Settings page, make a note of the values that appear in the API User Key and Password fields.

    

12. Next, in the side navigation menu, navigate to Checkout Page > Hosted Pages.

13. In the Additional Features section of the page, enable the Email toggle. Doing so will permit your clients to receive an email copy of the vouchers that they purchase.

    

14. Click Confirm Changes. Then, navigate to Checkout Page > Payment Methods.

15. Select and configure all methods you'd like to use to process payments on your splash pages. When you've finished making changes, click Submit.

16. Proceed to the next section of this article.

Next, you'll authorize BlueSnap as the payment processor for your vouchers and splash pages in Datto Network Manager.

Connect to BlueSnap

1. Navigate to portal.dattobackup.com

2. Log in with your Partner Portal credentials.

3. From the header menu, select Status > Networking Status.
   

4. Select the name of a Network or Launch Network Manager, to load the Networking Manager.
   

5. Navigate to Manage > Vouchers > Settings.

6. Scroll to the Secure Payments section of the page.

7. In the IPN Security Key and API User Key fields, paste the values that you made a note of in the previous section of this article.

   

8. At the top of the Settings page, click Save Changes.

9. In the Access Points section of the side navigation menu, click the name of the wireless network for which you'd like to configure payment settings.

10. Once the network detail page loads, select the Captive Portal tab.

11. In the Splash Page section of the page, click the Splash page toggle to enable it.

12. In the Splash page type drop-down menu, select Custom.

13. Click Edit Splash Page.

14. Make any applicable customizations to the page. Then, in the editor ribbon, click the < > icon to access its source code.

15. The editor will switch to the source code view.

    NOTE  Refer to the below screenshot for steps 16 through 19.

    

16. If you're using your old splash page, you'll need to paste the following secure payment snippet into the page's source code in the location shown above. Otherwise, skip this step and proceed to step 17.

17. Locate the const NETWORK_ID line, identified by the "add your network ID" comment. If you're using your old splash page,

18. Input the eight-digit network ID value found in your internet browser's address bar.

19. On the const SSID_ID line, identified by the "add your SSID" comment, input the numeric value shown in the Network Manager left navigation bar next to the currently-selected SSID. For example, if you're making changes to SSID 3, the value you would enter in the editor is 3.

20. Update the const PACKAGES section of the code with the payment package or packages you'd like to make available to your clients. Use the format shown in the following screenshot. The variables you can use are as follows:

    • label: the package name visible on the client's splash page and on the BlueSnap payment page

    • amount: package price

    • duration: voucher duration in hours

    • currency: ISO 4217 code for the currency type your payment page uses

    • description: package description that will appear on the BlueSnap payment page

    

21. When you've finished making customizations to your splash page, click Save Changes.

22. Allow up to five minutes for the changes to replicate to the network. Then, verify that your new captive portal page is live by connecting to the selected SSID via your mobile phone or laptop and attempting a test transaction.
