Datto Networking products
Description
From time to time, Datto may find it necessary to discontinue certain Datto Networking Products. These discontinuations can be for various reasons, including:
-
product line enhancements
-
market demand
-
technological innovation
-
end of life of certain components
We describe our EOL policy here to help Datto customers better manage their own product transitions.
EOL Notifications
When a Product is scheduled for EOL, Datto will communicate important related milestones, such as the End of Sale (“EOS”) and End of Life (“EOL”) dates (as further detailed, below). Notifications will be made by posting to Datto’s Knowledge Base webpages. Additional notifications may be made by email or through Datto portal alerts, depending on the circumstances of a specific EOL event.
EOL details
End of Sale
End of Sale (or “EOS”) is the date upon which Datto expects to stop selling the applicable product. Upon EOS, the product will typically be removed from the Datto store and no longer be available for purchase. This is sometimes referred to in the industry as a Last Time Buy date.
Datto will use commercially reasonable efforts to sell the product up to the date of EOS and to provide between three (3) and six (6) months’ prior notice, subject to the specific circumstances of an EOS events such as stock availability, supply chain disruptions, and other extenuating events. Due to these circumstances, Datto may not be able to fulfill certain orders placed prior to EOS.
End of Life
End of Life (or “EOL”) is sometimes referred to in the industry as End of Support. Datto often (but not always) sets the EOL date to be five (5) years from the EOS date. Upon EOL, the following will occur:
-
Remote management of products: Datto will no longer guarantee that products with remote management functionality will connect to Datto’s cloud-based management software.
-
Maintenance and Support: Datto will cease maintenance and support of the product, and therefore does not guarantee performance of the product, which is used at your own risk after EOL. For example, after EOL, Datto will no longer:
-
ensure the security of the product and remote management.
-
provide technical support.
-
issue firmware updates or patches.
-
offer service subscriptions for the products.
-
-
Compatibility: New Datto features, functions, or services may not be compatible with EOL products.
-
Warranty: After EOS, warranty periods for specific product units continue as per Datto’s published warranty terms and conditions, however, upon the EOL date, warranty on all product units will expire.
