Minimum access requirements for Datto Networking user interfaces and portals
This article describes transport layer security requirements and the minimum supported browser versions necessary for accessing Datto Networking web management platforms and user portals.
Overview
Datto Networking devices are exclusively cloud-managed via web-based portals. All appliances leverage Datto Network Manager except for the Datto DNA, which has a dedicated cloud interface.
Both platforms have a minimum set of browser and transport security requirements for access and operation that adhere to information security best practices. The portals will reject sessions by any endpoint that is not running both a supported version of TLS and a supported web browser.
To access Datto Network Manager and the DNA cloud interface, your computer must satisfy all of the following requirements.
Transport Layer Security (TLS) requirements
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network. To ensure the security of your web management sessions, our portals will reject sessions by any endpoint that is not running TLS 1.2 or higher. For more information about enabling TLS 1.2 in your environment, refer to Microsoft's infrastructure guide.
Web browser requirements
The following table lists the officially-supported browsers for use with Datto Network Manager and the Datto DNA management portal.
Browser | Minimum version |
---|---|
Microsoft Edge | All versions |
Google Chrome | Version 29 |
Mozilla Firefox | Version 27 |
NOTE Derivative browsers based on the above and their rendering engines may work with our portals. However, we only provide official support for the platforms listed.
