Description

Datto Network Manager is the networking industry's first cloud management user interface designed to serve the needs of MSPs. Periodically, Datto may release updates to Network Manager that affect the functionality of or impact certain devices.

Overview

  • Partners will be able to follow along a guided overview from within the application.
  • Users will be prompted to take the tour if they have been initially invited into Network Manager in the last 90 days.
  • All users can utilize the guide by accessing it through the Help Icon within the top navigation menu in Network Manager.

Common Look and Feel

  • Radio buttons and toggle buttons within Network Manager now have a common look and feel with other Kaseya products.

New Features

Secure Edge, DSE421

  • The LAN ports on the DSE421 can now be connected to endpoints such as desktops or IP Phones to connectivity to all of your devices within your small office.

Access Points

  • Beta – Contact Support Initially – Automatic Transmit Power Adjustments – Have your APs do the heavy lifting of figuring out their optimal transmit power based on their physical placement and proximity to other Datto APs.

NOTE  This feature is being rolled out slowly. If you’d like to fast-track access, please contact Support. By default, it will be kept off for new and existing networks. In the future, we’ll examine turning it on for new networks.

Managed Power

  • Added support for Integrated Customer Billing for DMP-PDU product line with both Autotask and BMS.
  • Added support for Ticketing and Inventory Sync for DMP-PDU product line with Autotask.
  • Added support for Ticketing for DMP-PDU product line with Kaseya BMS.

Access Points and Gen1 Switches

  • Troubleshooting Mode allows for fetching of traffic stats and client information from your APs and switches every minute rather than the standard five minute interval.

D200, Access Points, Managed Power, Switches

  • All Datto Networking devices require a subscription to use them. Now, the devices’ subscriptions are visible in the network manager as; in a good state (not expiring soon), expiring soon (30 days or less) or expired. These details will be visible on the Device Status pages of respective products.
  • Add end of sale and end of life attributes to Network Manager
  • While Datto Networking products are built to last, like most IT equipment, they eventually reach a defined end-of-sale and end-of-life date. These are known as lifecycle status dates. Now, these dates are displayed within Status Pages and tables for handy reference.

NOTE  D200 devices will not show embedded lifecycle status information – instead, they will show a link to the referenced KB article above.

Bug Fixes

Secure Edge

  • Addressed an issue where destinations specified within a split tunnel include rule were not getting routed through the DSE cloud gateway

Network Manager

  • Addressed an issue where device link URLs to Datto RMM were still visible following the removal of the Datto RMM integration.
  • Updated URLs used in footer to remove dependency on short URL domain.
  • Addressed an issue where tooltips cosmetically appear to be blinking when they shouldn’t be.

IMPORTANT  With this release, the PayPal integration has reached end of life and is no longer available. BlueSnap replaces PayPal as the secure processor for paid WiFi access. To avoid service disruption, follow the steps described in Getting started with the Datto Networking BlueSnap integration.

New features

  • We've added new informational widgets to the Network Overview page that aggregate critical status information for your Datto Access Points, Switches, Routers, and Managed Power devices. For more details, review our Network Overview page article.
  • Datto Secure Edge now includes Buying and Provisioning roles for in-app purchasing.

Improvements

  • Secure Edge gateways will now adhere to administrator-defined maintenance windows.
  • When configuring Always-on VPN for Secure Edge, you'll receive a reminder that the feature is only supported by Windows endpoints. This enhancement ensures that administrators set up secondary authentication options for subscribers using any other type of operating system.
  • We've stylized spinner, check box, accordion, and collapsible elements within Network Manager to align with the Common Look and Feel (CLF) used across the IT Complete platform.

Bug fixes

  • We've fixed an issue that could prevent the timeline from refreshing as expected when changing the filter period of the Clients grid.
  • With this release, client graphs will now consistently populate relevant information instead of rendering in an empty state.
  • Under certain conditions, it was possible for users to encounter API error states when attempting to review recent network events for the last week or month. Now, Network Manager will consistently return on-demand historical data.
  • We've fixed an issue that prevented device links in Autotask and BMS ticket descriptions from linking to the correct device pages.

Improvement

  • We've updated the Network Manager tooltips in the BMS integration to reference gateway server URLs required for integration setup.

Bug fixes

  • This release resolves an issue that prevented the Autotask integration from successfully authenticating with Network Manager.
  • Under certain circumstances, DFS channel selection could become unavailable for Access Points. We've fixed this issue.
  • With this release, the correct colors for Access Point channel load icons will now consistently appear in Network Manager.

Bug fixes

Network Manager

  • This release fixes an issue in which an incorrect client name could appear on the Clients page CSV export.
  • The Search feature will now return consistent results when filtering on the Clients page.
  • Under certain circumstances, snoozing email alerts could fail. Now, snoozing email alerts will behave as expected.

Switches

  • We've fixed an issue that could prevent template application when multiple switches were selected.

Access Points

  • This release resolves an issue that prevented vouchers from being used in tiered access scenarios.

  • This release fixes an intermittent issue in which Access Point configuration settings did not successfully update after users clicked the Save Changes button.

Cloud release 2024-03-28

New features

  • We've introduced a new integration between Datto Networking and BMS that enables you to configure Datto Network Manager to create tickets in your service desk queue for selected companies and alerts. Learn more in our Deploying the Datto Networking Kaseya BMS integration article.
  • The IT Glue integration now enables you to link connected clients to IT Glue configurations. This enhancement allows you to quickly view configuration items within IT Glue when viewing a wired or wireless client on the Network Manager Clients page. For more details, refer to Setting up the Datto Networking IT Glue integration.

Bug fixes

  • We've fixed an issue that prevented the Jumbo Frames option's setting from being applied by templates when its selected configuration was Disabled.
  • This release addresses a problem that prevented use of the Autotask integration's AutotaskCompanyAutoComplete component.

Hotfix 2024.3.3 - 2024-03-18

Bug fixes

  • This release fixes an issue with the Autotask Integration in which a company-network mapping would not delete when the network itself was removed from Network Manager.
  • Previously, it was possible to create duplicate switch MAC ACL rules. Now, Network Manager will disallow the creation of these duplicate rules.
  • Under certain circumstances, users could be prevented from creating or editing switch templates. We've corrected this behavior.
  • We've fixed an issue that prevented users from enabling DNS Interception.

  • We identified and resolved a potential vulnerability in the Network Manager image uploader.

Bug fixes

This release resolves the following issues:

Network Manager

  • A minor cosmetic issue in which the LAN IP label within the AP flyout pane was visible even when a LAN IP did not exist.
  • All settings on the Switch and Port Settings pages expanding when invalid or empty values are entered for Second-Generation Datto Switches.
  • A browser Save Changes dialog appearing when filtering port ranges for Second-Generation Datto Switches.
  • Viewer-only accounts being unable to navigate to Access Point pages.
  • The Channel Utilization grid not rendering data as expected.
  • A broken Knowledge Base URL in the Role tooltip on the Manage Users page.
  • The Save as default setting not being honored when configuring vouchers.

Access Points

  • Client isolation prevented from being enabled on SSIDs that are bridged to a VLAN.
  • 802.11r prevented from being enabled on SSIDs when bridged to a VLAN.
  • Expected settings not being reflected in the UI when selecting All Bands - Unique SSIDs and leaving the fields blank.
  • DNS intercept not working after enabling DNS rebind protection.
  • DFS channel recommendations not appearing for Access Points running ng7.0 or later.
  • Access Points receiving incorrect DFS configuration for 5 GHz radios.
  • The list of available wireless channels for manual selection not updating after enabling DFS.

Second-Generation Datto Switches

  • Single ports being incorrectly allowed to be defined as a range within ACLs.
  • ACL source port range fields clearing after editing them.
  • The Switch Settings page becoming inaccessible after enabling Voice VLAN.

First-Generation Datto Switches

  • Source and destination ports not populating within the Edit dialog.
  • Edits or additions to MAC-based access control lists being incorrectly prevented.
