New Features

• Secure Edge firewall rules: Setup port and protocol firewall rules and assign them to a security policy. These rulesets allow for tighter control of users and their devices to ring-fence access to corporate LAN resources. Datto Secure Edge Firewall Rules

Bug Fixes

• Removed the cap of 4,096 networks that can be created within Network Manager.
• Fixed an issue where devices added or removed from a network do not successful undergo the pairing process, requiring intervention from Support

Improvement

• When configuring split tunneling with SecureEdge, you can now use an asterisk (*) character as a wildcard designator for use within domains that should be excluded from the SecureEdge tunnel.

Bug Fix

• Fixed an issue where Datto SecureEdge clients that failed a SafeCheck sometimes did not have the Allow Temporary Access option.
• Fixed an issue where newly added Datto Managed Power PDUs don't show pairing banner after pairing window expires, causing device not to check-in for first time.
• Fixed an issue that prevented the yellow upgrade banner from appearing within Network Manager for AP version 7.1.0.

• Beta – Contact Support Initially – Automatic Transmit Power Adjustments – Have your APs do the heavy lifting of figuring out their optimal transmit power based on their physical placement and proximity to other Datto APs.

NOTE  This feature is being rolled out slowly. If you'd like to fast-track access, please contact Support. By default, it will be kept off for new and existing networks. In the future, we'll examine turning it on for new networks.

• Added support for Integrated Customer Billing for DMP-PDU product line with both Autotask and BMS.

Access Points and Gen1 Switches

• Troubleshooting Mode allows for fetching of traffic stats and client information from your APs and switches every minute rather than the standard five minute interval.

D200, Access Points, Managed Power, Switches

• All Datto Networking devices require a subscription to use them. Now, the devices' subscriptions are visible in the network manager as; in a good state (not expiring soon), expiring soon (30 days or less) or expired. These details will be visible on the Device Status pages of respective products.
• Add end of sale and end of life attributes to Network Manager
• While Datto Networking products are built to last, like most IT equipment, they eventually reach a defined end-of-sale and end-of-life date. These are known as lifecycle status dates. Now, these dates are displayed within Status Pages and tables for handy reference.

NOTE  D200 devices will not show embedded lifecycle status information – instead, they will show a link to the referenced KB article above.

Bug fixes

• We've fixed an issue that could prevent the timeline from refreshing as expected when changing the filter period of the Clients grid.
• With this release, client graphs will now consistently populate relevant information instead of rendering in an empty state.
• Under certain conditions, it was possible for users to encounter API error states when attempting to review recent network events for the last week or month. Now, Network Manager will consistently return on-demand historical data.
• We've fixed an issue that prevented device links in Autotask and BMS ticket descriptions from linking to the correct device pages.

This enhancement allows you to quickly view configuration items within IT Glue when viewing a wired or wireless client on the Network Manager Clients page. • We've fixed an issue that prevented the Jumbo Frames option's setting from being applied by templates when its selected configuration was Disabled.
• This release addresses a problem that prevented use of the Autotask integration's AutotaskCompanyAutoComplete component.

• This release fixes an issue with the Autotask Integration in which a company-network mapping would not delete when the network itself was removed from Network Manager.

• DNS intercept not working after enabling DNS rebind protection.

• The list of available wireless channels for manual selection not updating after enabling DFS.

Second-Generation Datto Switches

• Single ports being incorrectly allowed to be defined as a range within ACLs.
• ACL source port range fields clearing after editing them.
• The Switch Settings page becoming inaccessible after enabling Voice VLAN.

First-Generation Datto Switches

• Source and destination ports not populating within the Edit dialog.
• Edits or additions to MAC-based access control lists being incorrectly prevented.

• Previously, snooze buttons embedded in email alerts could be clicked without any additional action, which inadvertently enabled email scanners to snooze alerts. Now, clicking any snooze button in email will prompt you to authenticate before the snooze is registered.

• We've fixed an issue that could cause Click here buttons in device alert emails to return errors.

• This release resolves a problem that prevented vouchers from being accepted on WiFi SSIDs when bandwidth throttling and captive portal are enabled.

• Autotask integration – Inventory Sync: Now, the Autotask integration can automatically create and update your Datto Networking device inventory in Autotask. Here are some key things to know when you get started:

  • You'll need to configure the additional necessary mapping within the new Configuration Item Sync tab. At least one mapping is required to enable inventory sync. To learn more, refer to Configuring the Datto Networking Autotask integration.

  • This feature supports all devices that are manageable by Datto Network Manager.

  • Automatic device syncing occurs every 24 hours.

  • Device configuration item records are never deleted. If you delete a device or move it from a network, the integration sets it to an inactive status in Autotask.

  • Synced devices have the following fields mapped:

    • Make (always Datto)

    • Model

    • MAC Address

    • Device Name

    • Date Added

    • Description

In the event you need to troubleshoot the integration, the log for the most recent sync is available for you to download. In addition, we've enhanced the audit log to record user actions related to Inventory Sync.

• We've made cosmetic improvements to the Network Manager modals and the Autotask Integration page to align their appearances with Kaseya's common look and feel.

Bug Fixes

• Previously, when navigating to the Alerts, Global Alerts, or VPN pages, Network Manager could fail to shift focus to the correct application tab. Now, the corresponding application tab will be consistently selected when accessing these pages.

• This release fine-tunes the positioning and text alignment of the Welcome modal seen by users when accessing the Secure Edge section of Network Manager for the first time.

• We've fixed an issue that caused an icon to be missing from the Apply Switch Template page's breadcrumbs.

• Under certain circumstances, the Secure Edge sub-menus could fail to update as expected. We have resolved this issue.

• Any SSIDs using Facebook WiFi authentication that have the captive portal feature enabled are now disabled.

• Any SSIDs using Facebook WiFi authentication with the captive portal feature disabled will remain in their original enabled or disabled state.

• Facebook WiFi authentication is no longer an available option for splash pages

• If an SSID on the network is using Facebook WiFi and affected by the deprecation of this service, a banner will appear with advisement that action must be taken. For the banner to disappear, the user must change the splash page configuration to Custom or Hosted Remotely. After doing so, users can disable the splash page.

Bug fixes

• A problem with an unavailable FontAwesome resource was causing 404 errors to appear in the Network Manager browser console during navigation. This release corrects the problem. We've also made additional infrastructure enhancements to fix console errors that were causing pages to render incorrectly in the UI.

• Previously, it was possible for configuration sliders to fail to appear in Firefox. Now, all slider elements will now appear correctly.

• An issue with the UI caused the LAN icon to disappear from the Router LAN Settings pane. We have restored the icon.

• We've fixed an issue that prevented users from setting the properties of null when creating ACLs.

• Autotask Ticket Integration: A PSA is the source of truth and the lifeblood of an MSP's practice – if information isn't captured there, it might as well not exist. When any of your Datto Networking gear generates an alert, that information needs to be routed into your PSA so that your techs can appropriately triage and action it.

  This update to Datto Network Manager provides an initial integration with Autotask that enables you to map Autotask companies to Network Manager networks, assign ticket severity priorities, and choose notification channel options for each alert within the Global Settings and Network Alert Settings pages. The integration will become available to you over the course of April as Autotask completes the rollout of the 2023.2 release.

Improvements

• Alert enhancements: We've made the following changes to the Network Alert Settings and Global Alert Settings pages:

  • Inherit Global Alerts and Allow Alerts during a Maintenance Window are now toggles.

  • We've created dedicated alert management drop-downs for Access Points, Power, Routers, Switches and Secure Edge.

  • We've added a new Email Distribution List tab to the Global Alert Settings and Network Alert Settings pages. From here, you can manage additional alert recipients for both levels of alerts.

  • You'll now receive a notification pop-up when a network inherits changes from the global level.

  • If you have the Autotask integration enabled, Send alert via Autotask will be a selectable option when configuring alerts.
